With summer well upon us, and a full travel itinerary, stocked with beaches from Bermuda to Antalya to Riviera Maya, I’ve kicked up my workout routine over the past few months in preparation. Yet a girl could always use a little help polishing up a few loose ends here and there. Not being able to squeeze in an additional minute at the gym, nor work on my pre trip base tan, I’ve found that it’s time to dig deep into my beauty bag of tricks for a few last minute “get-thin-quick-fixes.”
Although there’s no substitute to sweating it out at the gym, here are a few secrets to help you feel buffed and beautiful in your bikini this summer.
Fix #1: Firming Lotions
These three creams promise skin-smoothing, cellulite-fighting firming action. I’ve yet to see results, but I’m going to give them the rest of the month. Either way, I know my dewey, moisturized skin will look better in a bathing suit.
The Lotion: The SkinCeuticals Body Tightening Concentrate
The Promise: This lotion stimulates collagen to re-inflate skin and give it a smooth, tight surface. $75, www.SkinCeuticals.com
The Lotion: AHAVA Firming Body Cream
The Promise: Plant extracts and Dead Sea minerals combine to prevent, repair and strengthen your skin. $38.50 at www.ahavaus.com
The Lotion: Elemis Spa@ Home Cellutox Active Body Oil

Fix #2: Sunless Tanners
I always feel thinner with a healthy tan – usually I’m the pastiest person at the party. Here are a couple products that really do give you the gradual, natural glow – the perfect balance between Casper white and Oompa-Loompa Orange.
The Tanner: Jergens Natural Glow Revitalizing Daily Moisturizer
The Promise: A gradual tan that builds with each day of application. Don’t overdo it, and don’t forget to slather your face hands and feet too! $10, www.wallgreens.com
The Tanner: Alba Botanica Very Emollient Sunless Tanner
The Promise: Paraben-free, non-streaking lotion that boasts subtle sun-kissed color in less than three hours. $11, www.albabotanica.com
Fix #3: A High-Tech Gadget
I love power-packed beauty gear. Anyone else addicted to the Clarisonic? So, when I saw this at-home slimming gizmo, I knew I had to give it a go.
The Gadget: The Bliss Fat Girl Slim Lean Machine Body Contouring System
The promise: This power tool uses vacuum-assisted massage action to reduce the appearance of cellulite on your abs, legs, and booty. $145, www.macys.com
If you’ve got any more great ideas, I’m all ears. Seriously, I am not above airbrushing a six-pack on my abs, well, maybe no so extreme!
